(Potsdam, N.Y.)- Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) and Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.Y.) each sank a free throw in the final minute of the game leading the SUNY Canton men's basketball team past Paul Smith's College 75-73 Tuesday night in Potsdam.  The Roos won their second straight game improving to 3-5 in the Sunrise Conference and 5-13 overall.

(Potsdam, N.Y.)- Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.Y.) matched a season-high with 20 points leading four players in double digits as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team swept the season series with the College of St. Joseph with an 83-72 win Sunday afternoon in Potsdam.  The Roos are now 2-5 in the Sunrise Conference and 4-13 overall.

(Potsdam, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team used a dominating start to the second half to cruise past the College of St. Joseph 69-49 for their second straight win Sunday afternoon in Potsdam.  The Roos moved to 4-2 in the Sunrise Conference and 7-9 overall.

(Canton, N.Y.)-The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team continues to rack up the points and wins as they ripped the University of Rochester 15-0 Saturday afternoon in an Eastern Collegiate Hockey League game at the Canton Pavilion.  The Roos won their sixth straight game improving to 12-1 in league play and 16-10 overall.

Men's Basketball
Alston was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in two games last week for the Roos.  

Alston fired in 20 points,grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists in an 83-72 win over the College of St. Joseph on Sunday.  The previous day he had 14 points, four rebounds and two assists as the Roos came up just short against the conference's top team Fisher college in a 91-89 loss.

In both games Alston shot an impressive 53 percent from the floor. 

He continued the stuff the stat sheet Tuesday night as he collected 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals helping the Roos beat Paul Smith's College 75-73.

Women's Basketball
Shannon is honored after leading the Roos to two Sunrise Conference wins this past week.

The junior forward averaged 16.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the free throw line.

She had 23 points and seven rebounds in a 57-48 win over Fisher College shooting 5-for-5 from the free throw line.  She then had nine points and seven boards in a 69-49 win over the College of St. Joseph.

LaFave leads the team in scoring (15.3) and rebounding (7.4) and is shooting 46 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line.
