(Canton, N.Y.)- Seniors Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.) and Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.) found out this week that they will get to play a little more hockey this season.  The co-captains have been selected to play in the 3rd Annual ACHA Division I All-Star Game on March 20th.

(Bensenville, Ill.)- The No. 15 SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team rebounded from an opening round loss to beat No. 16 Rutgers University 6-5 in overtime in a consolation game at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Ill.  The Roos end their season at 20-12 overall.

(Bensenville, Ill.)-Junior goalie Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) had 51 saves in an outstanding performance but it wasn't enough as No. 15 SUNY Canton lost to No. 2 Penn State 7-3 in the opening round of the ACHA Division I National Championship at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Ill.

Carolina Olivares
Softball
Carolina gets the nod after batting an impressive .882 in a four-game sweep of Vermont Technical College.  

The junior was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after she belted three doubles and two triples, drove in 15 runs and scored 10 times.  

She went 4-for-4 twice, the second time finishing with seven RBIs, and she had four hits in three out of the four games.

Olivares leads the conference batting .594.  She is second in triples (2), third in RBIs (16) and tied for fifth in doubles with three.
Matthew Fallon
Baseball
Matthew receives the award after batting .667 in six games this week finishing with five RBIs and four runs.  

He was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 6-5 loss to St. Michael’s College.  He also went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs in an 8-5 win over Vermont Technical College.

In addition he struck out eight batters and allowed just five hits in another 11-1 win over the Green Knights.

Fallon is batting .393 with four doubles, a triple and five RBIs.  He's one of the top pitchers in the conference as he is second in both strikeouts (18) and opponents batting average (.234) and third in both earned-run average (6.04) and innings pitched (22.1).
