Roos Record Personal Bests at CCOC Invitational

(Geneva, N.Y.)- Each member of the SUNY Canton men's cross country team recorded a personal best time on Saturday as they finished in eighth place out of 14 teams at the Cross Country Only Conference (CCOC) Invitational hosted by Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. The 8K race was held at Seneca Lake State Park.

Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) turned in an impressive performance coming in 12th out of 114 runners in a personal best time of 27:29.

Byron Danis (Rensselaer Falls, N.Y.) finished in 29th place in 28:52 for his lowest time of the season. Joel Landry (Malone, N.Y.) had his best time of 29:37 to finish in 33rd place. Shawn Wakefield (Cohoes, N.Y.) was 80th in a time of 33:16. Tyler Morse (North Creek, N.Y.) and Brad Hamilton (Salem, N.Y.) finished close behind in 82nd and 84th place. Morse ran his best race at 33:31 and Hamilton did the same at 33:44. Alex Marroquin (Pine Bush, N.Y.) knocked nearly two minutes off his time to finish at 103 in a time of 37:18.

Clarkson University took the overal team title with 27 points. The Golden Knights took five of the top individual spots in the race. Bennet Flanagan of Hobart was the overall medalist recording a time of 25:29.

Elissa St. Germain
Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.

Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.
