Roos Finish 4th at Sunrise Conference Championship; Richardson and Danis Named All-Conference

Byron Danis finished in 6th place at the Sunrise Conference Championships

(Presque Isle, Maine)- Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) finished in second place at the Sunrise Conference Championship in Presque Isle, Maine on Saturday leading the Roos to a fourth-place finish.

Richardson ran the 8K race in a time of 29:21 and was named the Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Year and he also made the all-conference team. By finishing in the top three Richardson also qualified for the NAIA National Championships on November 21 in Vancouver, Wash.

Byron Danis (Rennselaer Falls, N.Y.) was also named all-conference for the second year in a row as he finished in sixth place in a time of 30:33.

Joel Landry (Malone, N.Y.) finished in 16th place recording a time of 32:52. Brad Hamilton (Salem, N.Y.) was 24th in a time of 35:57. Tyler Morse (North Creek, N.Y.) followed in 25th place in a time of 36:21. Shawn Wakefield (Cohoes, N.Y.) came in 28th place in a time of 37:54. Alex Marroquin (Pine Bush, N.Y.) (39:27) and Michael Pratt (Gansevoort, N.Y.) (1:03:00) rounded out the Roos roster on Saturday.

Paul Smith's College won the men's team championship with 36 points. Presque Isle's Justin Fereshetian was the individual champion and Sunrise Conference Runner of the Year as he recorded a time of 29:00.

Joining Fereshtian, Richardson, and Danis on the all-conference team was Kyle Dash (Paul Smith's), Justin Newland (Vermont Technical College), Matthew Piper (Paul Smith's), and Jacob Dillon (Paul Smith's).

Elissa St. Germain
Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.

Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.
