Olds Leads Roos at Sunrise Conference Championship

(Presque Isle, Maine)- Vickie Olds (Bronx, N.Y.) came in 13th place at the Sunrise Conference Championship on Saturday in Presque Isle, Maine. The Roos posted an incomplete team score as they only had four runners compete in the meet. Julie Vander Wiel (Malone, N.Y.) suffered a back injury earlier this week and was not able to make the trip.

Olds ran the 5K race in a time of 26:10.

Kristie Melven (Attica, N.Y.) followed Olds in 14th place in a time of 26:11. Jeannette Richards, who recently joined the team, came in 18th place in a time of 28:43 and Katelyn Anthony (Spencerport, N.Y.) finished in 20th place in a time of 30:39.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle won the women's team championship with 28 points. Jessie Gardner of Paul Smith's College won the race in a time of 21:51 and was named the Sunrise Conference Female Runner of the Year. Joining Gardner on the all-conference team was Ashley Rokjer (Paul Smith's), Shelly Hanson (Presque Isle), Katie Christoffel (Presque Isle), Justine Cyr (Presque Isle), Chandra Wisneski (Presque Isle), and Jessica Champagne (Paul Smith's).

Men's Ice Hockey
Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.

Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.
