(Randolph Center, Vt.)- The SUNY Canton men's basketball team couldn't hold an eight-point halftime lead as they dropped their first conference game of the year losing to Vermont Technical College 75-66 Saturday afternoon in Randolph Center, Vt.  The Roos fell to 0-1 in the Sunrise Conference and 2-9 overall.

The Roos led 36-28 at halftime after shooting 43 percent from the field but went cold in the second half shooting just 25 percent from the floor as they were out scored 47-30 in the final 20 minutes.

Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) led the Roos with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists.  

Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.C.) added 17 points, two rebounds and two assists and Jeff Grenier (Whitehall, N.Y.) chipped in with nine points and six caroms.

Kevin Carr pumped in four 3-pointers and scored 31 points to lead the Green Knights.  Carr also had three rebounds and three assists.  James O'Callaghan and Trent Roleau each added 12 points apiece.
