Men's Basketball Beaten by Machias 104-63

(Machias, Maine)- The SUNY Canton men's basketball team dropped a 104-63 decision to the University of Maine at Machias Thursday night in Maine.  The game was the first of three straight for the Roos who fell to 1-2 in the Sunrise Conference and 3-10 overall.  The Clippers are now 2-2 in the conference and 7-10 overall.

SUNY Canton fell behind by 19 points at halftime after Machias built a 51-32 lead shooting 59 percent from the floor.  That lead proved to be insurmountable for the Roos who regroup for tonight's game at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.), who is second in the conference in scoring, had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Roos.

Tony Parker (Sodus, N.Y.) added nine points and eight rebounds.  Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.C.) also had nine points, all coming three-point range.

The Clippers were paced by Clifford McDonald who dropped in a game-high 26 points.  McDonald shot 10-for-14 from the field, hit 6 of 7 free throws and also hauled in ine rebounds.  Brian Alexander added 15 points and nine assists.
