Men's Basketball Falls at Fisher College 103-86

(Boston, Mass.)- Deric Alston (Jacksonville, N.Y.) dropped in 19 points and Tony Parker (Sodus, N.Y.) collected his fourth double-double of the season but it wasn't enough as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team lost to Fisher College 103-86 Saturday in Boston, Mass. snapping their two-game winning streak.  The Roos are now 3-6 in the Sunrise Conference and 5-14 overall.  

Parker shot 8-for-10 from the field and finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Alston also had three boards and Jajuan Williams (Jacksonville, N.C.) added 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Louis Williams also recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 assists for the Falcons who remain one of the hottest teams in the country.  Fisher won their 20th straight game improving to 9-0 in the conference and 22-1 overalll.  Casey Pursell chipped in with 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Carolina gets the nod after batting an impressive .882 in a four-game sweep of Vermont Technical College.  

The junior was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after she belted three doubles and two triples, drove in 15 runs and scored 10 times.  

She went 4-for-4 twice, the second time finishing with seven RBIs, and she had four hits in three out of the four games.

Olivares leads the conference batting .594.  She is second in triples (2), third in RBIs (16) and tied for fifth in doubles with three.

Matthew receives the award after batting .667 in six games this week finishing with five RBIs and four runs.  

He was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 6-5 loss to St. Michael’s College.  He also went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs in an 8-5 win over Vermont Technical College.

In addition he struck out eight batters and allowed just five hits in another 11-1 win over the Green Knights.

Fallon is batting .393 with four doubles, a triple and five RBIs.  He's one of the top pitchers in the conference as he is second in both strikeouts (18) and opponents batting average (.234) and third in both earned-run average (6.04) and innings pitched (22.1).
