(Canton, N.Y.)- Seniors Scott Zaryski (Oswego, N.Y.) and Mark Talamo (Oswego, N.Y.) found out this week that they will get to play a little more hockey this season. The co-captains have been selected to play in the 3rd Annual ACHA Division I All-Star Game on March 20th.
Zaryski and Talamo are two of 40 players that have been selected to play in the game, which will be held at the Arrington Ice Arena at Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. 24 forward, 12 defensemen and four goalies are selected for the game. This is the second straight year SUNY Canton has sent a representative to the game as senior Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) was chosen last year.
Zaryski and Talamo are also two of six seniors on this year's team that were the first to play four years at SUNY Canton.
Zaryski tied for fifth on the team in scoring and led all SUNY Canton defensemen in that category with 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points. This year he scored five power play goals and notched two game-winning goals and was named to the all-ECHL First Team. During his four years Zaryski has also been named an NCAA All-American and a Region 3 all-star. In 103 career games has 31 goals and 40 assists for 71 points.
Talamo was sixth on the team in scoring with seven goals and 22 assists for 29 points and was tied for the team lead in short-handed goals with two. This season he joined the 100-point club at SUNY Canton and in 108 career games has recorded 40 goals and 70 assists for 110 points. In his career Talamo has been an all-Region 3 selection, an ACHA Academic All-American and an ECHL academic all-star. Following his sophomore year he earned the prestigious Alden C. Chadwick Leadership Award from the SUNY Canton athletic department.
