Men's Ice Hockey No. 15 in Final ACHA Poll

Canton, NY -- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team finished 15th in the final American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I Poll.

This is the highest the Roos have been ranked since they joined the ACHA a year ago as they were No. 22 earlier this season.

The Roos finished the year 20-12 overall and won the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League (ECHL) regular season title and earned a berth in the national tournament in Bensenville, Ill.  SUNY Canton lost to Penn State University 7-3 in the opening round of the national tournament and then bounced back to beat Rutgers University 6-5 in overtime in the consolation round.

SUNY Canton finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak and then, after beating Rochester (10-1) and Syracuse (4-3, OT) in the ECHL Tournament, dropped a heart-breaking 4-3 decision to Robert Morris University (Pa.) in the championship game.

The Roos and Robert Morris were the only ECHL teams in the final top 25.
