(Cocoa Beach, Fla.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team lost three games to Northwood University (Fla.) during their spring break trip Florida. The Roos lost 25-1 on Feb. 28 and then lost a doubleheader to the Seahaws on March 1 losing 30-6 and 11-1.
In the single game on Sunday Richard Flood (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored the lone run for the Roos and Dominic Creazzo (Massena, N.Y.) had the only hit as he went 1-for-2. Josh Harvey (North Creek, N.Y.) added an RBI for SUNY Canton.
Jared Wallace (Canton, N.Y.) allowed nine runs on 11 hits and four walks with three strikeouts in three innings.
Hunter Davis went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs to lead Northwood and Christopher Buddee went the distance on the mound striking out eight batters.
In the opening game of the doubleheader Flood and Creazzo each collected two RBIs. Flood was 2-for-2 and Creazzo 1-for-3. Bryan Duval (Norfolk, N.Y.) also had two hits and Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.) and Frank McHale (Binghamton, N.Y.) each contributed an RBI.
Ricky Davidson (Ashburn, Va.) surrendered 22 runs and 15 hits with a pair of strikeouts in three innings. Creazzo allowed five runs on seven hits in two innings and Brandon Robinson (Lisbon, N.Y.) three runs on two hits.
Brady Rak, Joshua Leo and Juan Quesada each homered for the Seahawks and Nicholas Rodriguez and Victory Gatell combined to strike out five batters.
In the nightcap Duval went 1-for-3 with an RBI. McHale went 2-for-2 and Harvey, Hartle, and Robinson each had a hit.
Michael Zelyez (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) allowed 11 runs on 13 hits and five walks with four strikeouts.
Manny Noboa drove in four runs for Northwood and J.D. Tyler fanned five batters and gave up six hits and no walks.
