Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Fisher College 11-0 and 5-4

(Lynn, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team opened their Sunrise Conference schedule on Saturday dropping a doubleheader to perennial league favorite Fisher College losing 11-0 and 5-4 at Fraser Field in Lynn., Mass.  The Roos dropped to 0-2 in the conference and 0-8 overall while Fisher improved to 2-0 and 10-13.

In the opening game the Roos were limited to just five hits and none of those went for extra bases.  Nate Besaw (Massena, N.Y.) had a pair of singles and Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.), Matt Myers (Brandon, Vt.), and Ricky Davidson (Ashburn, Va.) each had one.

Freshman Josh Harvey (North Creek, N.Y.) allowed 11 runs on 13 hits and four walks with one strikeout in six innings for the Roos.

Jose Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs to lead the Falcons.  Reynaldo Nunez also doubled and drove in two runs and Casey Reed struck out 10 batters and allowed just one walk in the complete game win on the mound.

In the nightcap the Roos led 3-1 after three innings but the Falcons rallied with a four-run fourth inning to pull ahead for the win.

Dominic Creazzo (Massena, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Roos.  Harvey also drove in two runs and Darling contributed a double.  

Matthew Fallon (Pierrefonds, Quebec) went the distance on the mound pitching six innings surrendering 11 hits and five walks with three strikeouts.

Juan Eusebio pounded out three hits to lead Fisher.  Jose Rodriguez and Zack Thompson each doubled and Mike Callahan and Rob Mondello combined to give up six hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
