Baseball Loses Two to Fisher 11-3 and 5-0

(Lynn, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Fisher College on Easter Sunday losing 11-3 and 5-0 at Fraser Field in Lynn., Mass.  The Roos fell to 0-4 in the Sunrise Conference and 0-10 overall while Fisher improved to 4-0 and 12-13.

In the opening game the Roos pounded out 12 hits but could generate just three runs as they stranded 11 runners.  

Dominic Creazzo (Massena, N.Y.) went 3-for-5 to lead the Roos.  Matt Myers (Brandon, Vt.) and Ricky Davidson (Ashburn, Va.) each tripled, drove in a run and scored once and Josh Harvey (North Creek, N.Y.) added a double and an RBI.

Dylan Gronowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) surrendered 18 hits and five walks with one strikeout in 6 2/3 innings.  Josh Hartle (Harrisville, N.Y.) came on in relief and struck out three batters in 1 and 1/3 innings of work.

Juan Eusebio went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Falcons.  Alfredo Torres added a double and two RBIs and Jose Rodriguez contributed a triple.  Kevin Michael allowed 11 hits and struck out six in seven innings on the mound.

In game two the Roos were limited to just three hits.  Michael Zelyez (Brasher Falls, N.Y. ), Jared Wallace (Canton, N.Y.), and Bryan Duval (Norfolk, N.Y.) each singled for SUNY Canton.  

Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) went the distance on the mound for the Roos allowing 13 hits and four walks with a pair of strikeouts.

Rodriguez doubled twice and scored a run to lead Fisher.  Mike Oliveira also doubled and drove in two runs and Patrick Shanahan fanned 11 batters in seven strong innings on the mound.

Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.

Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.
