Baseball Announces 2009-10 Team Awards

(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton baseball team announced their team awards at a banquet at The Club in Canton on May 15.

First-year head coach Joe Carbone gave out two Leadership Awards to seniors Dominic Creazzo (Massena, N.Y.) and Adam Levy (Penfield, N.Y.) for their selfless play and guidance this spring.

Creazzo batted .280 as a designated hitter with 11 RBIs, 10 runs, two triples, a double and a home run.

Levy batted .225 with seven runs, four RBIs and four doubles and he posted a .952 fielding percentage at shortstop.  He also pitched in 27.1 innings striking out 15 batters.

Carbone was named the Sunrise Conference Coach of the Year and freshman catcher Tom Darling (Oswego, N.Y.) and sophomore pitcher and infielder Matthew Fallon (Pierrefonds, Quebec) each made the all-conference team.  

Levy, freshman second baseman Bryan Duval (Norfolk, N.Y.) and junior outfielders Dylan Gronowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Michael Zelyez (Brasher Falls, N.Y. ) each received a defensive Gold Glove Award.

Men's Ice Hockey
Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.
Elissa St. Germain
Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.
