Cross Country Announces 2009-10 Team Awards

(Canton, N.Y.)- The men's and women's cross country teams announced their 2009-10 team award winners following their season in the fall.

First-year head coach John Kennedy honored four of runners, two from each team.

Freshmen Lorraine Conover (Oneida, N.Y.) and Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) were named the Most Valuable Runners.

Conover ran in four races this season and was the Roos top finisher in each of those races.  Due to a military committment she was unable to compete in the Sunrise Conference championship meet.  Conover recorded a personal-best time of 21:19 at the Highlander Inviational at Houghton College.

Richardson was the Roos top finisher in every race last fall.  He came in second in the Sunrise Conference championshp meet earning him all-conference and Rookie of the Year honors.  With that finish Richardson qualified for the NAIA national meet in Vancouver, Wash. where he posted a time of 29:25 at the difficult course at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.  Richardson's personal-best time came at the CCOC Invitational at Hobart Williams Smith where he finished in a time of 27:29.

Sophomores Katelyn Anthony (Spencerport, N.Y.) and junior Michael Pratt (Gansevoort, N.Y.) both recieved the Most Improved Runner Awards.

Anthony ran in all seven races and finished in 20th place at the Sunrise Conference championship meet.  She had a personal-best time of 26:26 at the CCOC Invitational.  

Pratt battled injuries all year which prevented him from competing in any races until the conference meet.

Men's Ice Hockey
Dave is honored this week after netting three goals in a 7-1 win over Canisius College on Jan. 27.

The freshman forward leads the Roos in goals (24) and hat tricks with three.
Elissa St. Germain
Women's Basketball
Elissa gets the nod as Roo of the Week after two solid road performances.

The freshmn notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 55-35 win over Vermont Technical College.  Elissa canned 8 of 10 free throws and also had two assists in the victory.  She also had three points and three rebounds the day before against the University of Maine at Augusta.
