Spuck Stops 20 Shots in Loss to Nichols

Box Score (Dudley, Mass.)- Trevor Roundpoint (Rooseveltown, N.Y.) and Jason Thompson (Massena, N.Y.) each scored twice and Corey Spuck (Rochester, N.Y.) made 20 saves as the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team lost to Nichols College 13-5 on Saturday in Dudley, Mass.

The Roos (1-3) built a 4-2 lead at halftime behind goals from Pat Connelly (Chittenango, N.Y.) and Thompson in the first period and two straight goals from Roundpoint in the final seven minutes of the second quarter.

The Bison's offense came alive in the third quarter as they struck for five unanswered goals.  Both teams traded scores in the final five minutes as Thompson netted his second goal with 5:05 left.  Nichols then tacked on five more goals in the final stanza for the final score.

Connelly finished with two assists and Spuck's 20 stops were a season-high for the sophomore goalie eclipsing his previous mark of 19 saves against Wells College on March 11.

Brian Girad fired in four goals to lead Nichols, Marc Miller had three and Scott Gray made 12 saves.

The Roos return to the field on March 21 when they travel to Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.
