Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton softball team wrapped up their 2012 campaign on Wednesday as they lost to SUNY Potsdam 7-1 and 9-1 in a home doubleheader in Canton.

The games were makeup contests from a pair that were cancelled due to inclement weather on April 25.  Wednesday's weather was the nicest of the spring as the large crowd enjoyed sunny skies and temperatures around 70 degrees.  Fans also enjoyed free ice cream floats that were donated by College Association and made by members of the men's ice hockey team for Pack the Stands Day.

In the opening game sophomore Emiley Walters (Lancaster, N.Y.) and freshmen Jena Cryderman (Madrid, N.Y.), Jessica Rhodes (Alpine, N.Y.), and Marie Mason (Pulaski, N.Y.) each laced a single to lead the Roos (8-26).

Junior Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) fanned three batters and surrendered seven hits in six innings on the mound.  Junior Jessica Measheaw (Hammond, N.Y.) gave up one run on one hit in one inning.

In the nightcap Walters blasted her team-leading seventh home run with a solo shot in the fourth inning.  Lottie added a double and Rhodes notched her second hit of the day with a single.  Lottie pitched four innings and had one strikeout and allowed four hits and just one walk.  Measheaw came on in relief again and had two strikeouts and one walk while giving uup three hits in three innings.

Katie Nawrot had a double in game one and a home run in game two to lead the Bears (13-23) and she also had seven strikeouts to earn the win in the opener.
