Started 15 of the 21 contests he appeared in during his rookie season with the Roos… Posted a batting average of .283 with 13 hits, 5 runs, and 7 RBI on the season… He went 4-for-4 with 1 run, and 3 RBI in the 16-6 victory over SUNY Oneonta on 3/8.

Born July 19th, 1993 he is the son of Jaime & Annmarie Machado… Derrick is a transfer from Borough of Manhattan Community College… He is a Sports Management major.

What Makes You Unique: I am unique because I really look to put other people before myself and give them the support they need to succeed as well as making sure I do my best to achieve my goals. I am a great team player and love to be part of a team where we all share the love for baseball.
Reason You Chose SUNY Canton: This school had my desired major and I wanted to play baseball away from home.
Plans For After Graduation: I would like to look into coaching Little League Baseball after graduation.
