Built upon a balance of academic, athletic, and personal excellence, SUNY Canton Athletics has earned the utmost respect and regard from the college and surrounding communities, other college athletic programs, alumni and all other stake holders.

Through our commitment and modeling of character, personal accountability, ethical decision making and servant leadership we inspire our student-athletes to develop their best person. Our student-athletes enthusiastically embrace the importance and benefits of their education, athletic opportunities, and personal growth which moves them forward in realizing their full academic, athletic and human potential.

The academic achievements and 100% graduation rate of our student-athletes creates a supportive relationship with faculty who embrace the mission of intercollegiate athletics as an integral component to the overall educational experience.

With stable rosters of highly skilled and dedicated student athletes each of our teams is consistently competitive and successful. Their level of competitiveness is a source of pride for campus members and our student body who pack our venues to support our teams creating an electrifying atmosphere at home events. This engagement by the campus community together with creative and exciting event management provides and incredible level of spirit and connection throughout the campus and community at large.

From a supportive college administration, the athletic program is provided the adequate resources and support to successfully fulfill our mission. In addition, athletic staff support and encourage each other further fostering an environment conducive for success.

Upon completion of their collegiate athletic experience, our student-athletes are proud to have been part of the ROO family and remain deeply connected to SUNY Canton athletics and the college throughout their lives.

Athletes of the Week
Matthew Fallon
Baseball
Matthew receives the award after batting .667 in six games this week finishing with five RBIs and four runs.  

He was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in a 6-5 loss to St. Michael’s College.  He also went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs in an 8-5 win over Vermont Technical College.

In addition he struck out eight batters and allowed just five hits in another 11-1 win over the Green Knights.

Fallon is batting .393 with four doubles, a triple and five RBIs.  He's one of the top pitchers in the conference as he is second in both strikeouts (18) and opponents batting average (.234) and third in both earned-run average (6.04) and innings pitched (22.1).
Carolina Olivares
Softball
Carolina gets the nod after batting an impressive .882 in a four-game sweep of Vermont Technical College.  

The junior was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week after she belted three doubles and two triples, drove in 15 runs and scored 10 times.  

She went 4-for-4 twice, the second time finishing with seven RBIs, and she had four hits in three out of the four games.

Olivares leads the conference batting .594.  She is second in triples (2), third in RBIs (16) and tied for fifth in doubles with three.
