(Presque Isle, Maine)- The SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a tight 79-74 decision to the University of Maine at Presque Isle Friday night.  The Roo lost their first game in the Sunrise Conference slipping to 2-1 and 5-8 overall.

Heather Lottie (Canton, N.Y.) guided the Roos with 17 points and five rebounds.

Shannon LaFave (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) added a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.  Abbey Shoen (Waddington, N.Y.) and Julie Vander Wiel (Malone, N.Y.) each had nine points.  Shoen also had nine rebounds and two assists and Vander Wiel had seven rebounds and six assists.

Emily Pelletier drilled five 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points for the Owls.  Julie Peers and Megan Korhonen each contributed 16 points apiece.
